Radcliffe commented that "449 or so days ago – but who’s counting – was my last drink. I just felt like I was chasing chaos and making my life difficult, all the time thinking I was having fun.

“So it feels very nice not to be putting myself in danger, to be waking up in the morning and not thinking, ‘Oh my god, who am I going to hear from? What did I do?’ It’s a life lived without dread and fear and it is lovely.”

When discussion turned to The Woman In Black and his character of Arthur Kipps, a widowed lawyer, Radcliffe added, “The thing I was worried about was not so much playing the side of him that’s been devastated by grief.

“The main thing I was concerned about was the 20 minutes in the middle of the film that has no dialogue and is just me walking around this house. I was thinking, ‘God, will this be like watching paint dry? Will I just be making the same expressions of fear the whole time?’

“Thankfully, neither is the case, It’s one of the most exciting sequences in the film.”

Radcliffe also added that he believes his work in The Woman In Black is his finest acting ever. The film has been directed by James Watkins from a script by Kick Ass and X-Men: First Class scribe Jane Goldman. Alongside Radcliffe the film will also star Ciaran Hinds, Janet McTeer, Roger Allam, Sophie Stuckey and Liz White and will be released on 3rd February 2012.

Radcliffe is currently starring on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Will Radcliffe be able to step out from Harry Potter's shadow?

Pieces of Hollywood memorabilia are often bought up by film aficionados at ridiculously high prices. This is so that they can hold cinematic history in their hands and pretend that they are part of the movie it represents. Now Steve McQueen's driving suit from the 1971 film Le Mans has been sold at a Profiles in History auction for $984,000.

So, if you see someone donning the infamous white attire, just make sure the car they are driving in isn't an embarrassment to the Steve McQueen's legacy.

The driving suit was estimated to be sold in the region of $200,000 - $300,000 but ended up fetching $984,000. McQueen wore the Hinchman Nomex racing suit when he played Michael Delaney in the 1971 action film that was directed by Lee H. Katzin. For almost 40 years, the suit was owned by Timothy Davies who won the piece of clothing as a 12 year old boy from a studio-sponsored contest.

Other Le Mans memorabilia to be sold at the auction included The Porsche that McQueen drove in the film, which was sold for a cool $1.25 million.

More infamous pieces of film history to be sold included one of seven DeLorean cars that were used in the Back to the Future trilogy which sold for $541,000, well within it's estimate of $400,000-$600,000. Michael J. Fox drove this particular car through a drive-in screen and landed him in the middle of a battle between Indians and the U.S Cavalry in the third instalment of the Back to the Future series.

Further items that were put up for auction included the couch used on Friends, Marilyn Monroe's invitation to JFK's Birthday celebration, Marilyn Monroe's wedding band from Joe DiMaggio and the pair of ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz.

For those of you interested in purchasing any of these items you'll need to save up all of your pocket money as most of these items are going for around $500,000.

The film which stars James MacAvoy as Santa Claus's youngest son also comprises Hugh Laurie, Bill Nighy, Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton and Ashley Jensen took £2.05 million over the Christmas period.

In doing so it overtook both of last week's highest earning movies which were Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows and Alvin And The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, with the total festive earning for the box office coming to £19.7 million.

The full list of the UK & Ireland Box Office, sourced by Screen International, can be viewed below.

1. Arthur Christmas - £2.05m

2. Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows - £1.72m

3. Alvin And The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked - £1.13m

4. Puss In Boots - £ 899,231

5. New Year's Ever - £396,488

There were only two days of box office receipts recorded, with cinemas closed on Christmas Day.

The only new entry that came into the chart at number 6 was the Indian action sequel Don 2, that starred Shah Rukh Khan, which averaged £4,204 per cinema, as it was screened at just 76 cinemas.

The rest of the top ten was rounded out by Martin Scorsese's Hugo at number 7, Happy Feet 2 at eight and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 at nine.

Number 10 on the list was taken by the 1946 festive classic, It's A Wonderful Life, starring James Stewart as a suicidal bank manager whose trip down memory lane and vision of life without him makes him truly appreciate his existence. The film took £74,462 from just 50 screens across the United Kingdom.

However with Tom Cruise's latest film Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol having been released on Boxing Day and featuring a 6 minute preview of The Dark Knight Rises, it seems unlikely that the Christmas cheer will last into the new year.

Comprised of scenes from classic movies like Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, The Godfather, Gladiator and the Sound of Music. Organisers have stated that this campaign is "meant to evoke the emotional connections we all have with the movies."

There are eight motion pictures depicted in the poster, each of which span eight decades, which are eclipsed by the large, golden Oscar statue. The annual awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on 26th February.

The Academy president Tom Sherak stated that "Whether it's a first date or a holiday gathering with friends or family, movies are a big part of our memory. The Academy Awards not only honour the excellence of these movies but also celebrate what they mean to us as a culture and to each of us individually."

The rest of the films on show include Driving Miss Daisy, Giant and Forrest Gump, with the tagline reading underneath, "Celebrate the movies in all of us."

Each of the films included on the poster have won the Oscar for the best picture, except Giant which it's director George Stevens received the best director award for.

Taking place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California the 84th Academy Awards ceremony will honor the best films of 2011. It has already been beset with problems with the original host Eddie Murphy resigning after producer Brett Ratner also left following the use of a gay slur when discussing rehearsals for the ceremony. Billy Crystal has taken over the reigns of hosting duties, which will be Crystal's ninth time hosting the awards. Brain Grazer and Don Mischer have hire as the replacement producers.

The nominations for the awards will be released on Tuesday January 24th, with the awards season due to get into full swing early next year.

A chimpanzee who is rumored to have starred in the Tarzan films of the 1930s has died at the age of 80, according to the sanctuary where he lived. The chimp acted alongside Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan in the Tarzan films from 1932-34, died of kidney failure on Saturday December 24th in the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in Palm Harbor.

Debbie Cobb, the sanctuary spokeswoman, told the Tampa Trubune that Cheetah came to live at Palm Harbor from Johnny Weissmuller's estate around 1960 and despite Chimpanzees typically only living to between 35 and 45 years, Cheetah almost doubled this. There is no evidence to suggest what lay behind his longevity.

Cheetah's antics within the enclosure was not always the most respectful with Ron Priest, a sanctuary volunteer, telling the paper that "When he didn't like somebody or something that was going on, he would pick up some poop and throw it at them. He could get you at 30 feet with bars in between."

This has not been the only "Cheetah" from the Tarzan films. A chimp known as "Cheeta" who lives in California, for a long time claimed to be the chimp in the films, but following research for a biography, that claim has been withdrawn.

Of course several different chimpanzee's were used for filming the Tarzan movies, but it was Cheetah who lived the true diva lifestyle of an actor appearing alongside Ronald Reagan and Dracula actor Bela Lugosi in 12 films. He also developed a drinking and smoking habit due to the bad influences which constantly surrounded him, with some reports even suggesting that he was at his happiest when downing a beer and puffing on a large Cuban cigar.

Cheetah retired in 1948 and quickly switched to diet coke and wore nicotine patches so that his health didn't decline any further. A true legend of cinema, is sadly with us no more.

The file-sharing blog, Torrent Freak has released a list of the most pirated film's of 2011 with the fifth instalment in the Fast and the Furious film series topping proceedings by being downloaded 9.2 million times.

The Hangover II was in second place with 8.8 million downloads with the top five being rounded out by Thor, Source Code and I Am Number Four.

James Cameron, whose sci-fi epic Avatar was last year's top-pirated film with 16.6 million downloads, has suggested that by making movies in 3D, people would be put off from downloading films illegally. This can be seen in the list with only two of this year;s top ten, Thor and Harry Potter, being released in 3D, as this format is infinitely more difficult to pirate.

The figures for this year have dropped in comparison to last years, with Torrent Freak explaining this to "an increase in file sharing and streaming sites - which don't count towards download figures." However cinema crowds have declined over the last 12 months to a 16 year low, as 2011's film lineup fell well short of studio's expectations. A number of reasons for this decline have been touted which have included the tight economy, rising ticket prices and a backlash against the parades of sequels and remakes which are constantly on show in the multiplexes.

This years highest grossing films Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Transformers: Dark of the Moon did not feature on the list, which has been collected from several sources, that include reports from thousands of Bit Torrent trackers.

The full list can be seen below.

1. Fast Five - 9.2m downloads

2. The Hangover II - 8.8m downloads

3. Thor - 8.3m downloads

4. Source Code - 7.9m downloads

5. I Am Number Four - 7.6m downloads

6. Sucker Punch - 7.2m downloads

7. 127 Hours - 6.9m downloads

8. Rango - 6.4m downloads

9. The King's Speech - 6.2m downloads

10. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - 6m downloads

With this knowledge Warner Home Video’s The Hangover Part II rode a flurry of last-minute Christmas shopping to the top of the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart the week ended Dec. 25. The comedy, in its third week in release, had debuted at No. 2 before dropping to No. 4 in its second week.

The top new release on the First Alert chart, which tracks overall disc sales, was Warner’s Dolphin Tale at No. 2. The family drama grossed $71.51 million at the domestic box office.

Paramount/DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda 2 dropped to No. 3, Disney’s The Help slipped to No. 4, and the previous week’s top seller, Fox’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, fell to No. 5.

Among other new releases, Sony Pictures’ Midnight in Parislanded at No. 7, Sony’s Colombiana debuted at No. 13 and Lionsgate’s Warrior bowed at No. 14.

VideoScan’s dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart saw Warner’s stalwart seller Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2jump back to No. 1 in its seventh week in release. The Potter Blu-ray tally barely edged out Apes, which dropped a spot to No. 2, andDolphin Tale, which debuted at No. 3. The Hangover Part II finished slightly further back at No. 4.

Potter Blu-rays accounted for 40 percent of the title’s overall disc sales, compared with 37 percent for Apes, 30 percent for Dolphin Tale and 27 percent for Hangover Part II.

On Home Media Magazine’s rental chart, Colombiana claimed the top spot, with Kung Fu Panda 2 at No. 2 and Warrior at No. 3. Midnight in Paris debuted at No. 11. Dolphin Tale did not crack the top 20 because Warner delays its new releases to rental outlets such as Redbox.

The Christmas to New Year week is the busiest of the year for moviegoers, and the level of traffic to multiplexes around the US this year has been as busy as usual. Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol from Paramount Pictures has now grossed over $256.2 million at the worldwide box office, earning $86.2 million domestically after 7 days in wide release and another $170 million internationally in just two weeks.

Tom Cruise's film is on track to earn as much as $600 million worldwide, which is a best for the film series, meaning that the prediction that Tom Cruise's career was on the slide was a silly one.

Ghost Protocol continues to top the holiday box office, grossing a hearty $9.6 million on Tuesday, followed by Warner Bros.'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Returning Robert Downey Jnr and Jude Law in the title roles, the sequel will jump the $100 million mark domestically sometime on Wednesday, becoming the first holiday film to do so.

On Tuesday, Game of Shadows grossed $7.3 million at the domestic box office for a cume of $97.1 million. Overseas, where it is still rolling out, Game of Shadows has earned $49 million for a global haul of $146.1 million.

Game of Shadows and Fox's Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked got off to slow starts over the Dec. 16-18 weekend but have both made up ground.

Chipwrecked is staying at No. 3 domestically, grossing $6.8 million for a cume of $63.3 million. Internationally, it has earned north of $35 million.

Holding at No. 4 was Sony's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. Opening on Dec. 21, the English-language adaptation of the bestselling Swedish novel grossed $4.6 million on Tuesday for a total $32.5 million. While the R-rated film is performing slightly behind expectations, it's holding well for an R-rated adult drama.

Fox's Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson Christmas film We Bought a Zoo continues to lag, coming in No. 6 behind Steven Spielberg's 3D family pic The Adventures of Tintin, which itself is only doing modest business.

Tintin, opening on Dec. 21, grossed $4.57 million on Tuesday for a domestic cume of $24.4 million. Overseas, where the comic book character Tintin is much more known, the movie has grossed a massive $250 million.

We Bought a Zoo, which opened Dec. 23 and is designed to be an all-audience film, grossed $4.3 million on Tuesday for a cume of $18.9 million.

Spielberg's second holiday film War Horse earned $4.2 million Tuesday for a three-day gross of $18.7 million. Disney is distributing the DreamWorks movie.

With New Year's Eve weekend approaching, New Line and Warner Bros.' New Year's Eve is showing signs of life, coming in No. 8 on Tuesday. The movie, which has been an under performer, has grossed $36.2 million domestically.

Summit Entertainment's Christmas Day entry The Darkest Hour is off to a sluggish start, coming in No. 9 in grossing an estimated $1.5 million for a three-day cume of $6.5 million.

With all the chatter being about Stallone and his pals getting back together for The Expendables sequel there is a good chance that you may have missed this little nugget of information regarding the Rocky star's newest action thriller Bullet To The Head.

Well a fresh picture has been released to whet your appetite for the film and it show's Stallone defying his age with a rather impressive washboard stomach.

Yummy yummy, if you are that way inclined.

A new synopsis has also been released for the film, albeit a fairly brief one. " Based on a graphic novel, Bullet to the Head also tells the story of a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) and a New York City cop who form an alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners."

Stallone will be battling with Conan stallion Jason Momoa, with Christian Slater also providing support. Red Heat director Walter Hill will be leading proceedings from a script that he has written himself alongside Alesandro Camon and Alexis Nolent, who wrote and created the graphic novels that the film is based on.

Other supporting actors include Adewale Akinnuoye- Agbaje, Sung Kang, Jon Seda, Sarah Shahi and Weronika Rosati.

The film has had a long history with Wayne Kramer originally hired to direct the film in February 2011, but clashed with Stallone over the tone of the film and he left the production with Walter Hill replacing Kramer on April 11th 2011.

Thomas Jane was also brought into the project by Kramer, but when Kramer left the project, Jane suggested Stallone to hire Walter Hill, who brought on Joel Silver to produce who subsequently fired Thomas Jane, as he wanted an ethnic person to the play the other lead role. Wow! Massive drama that some people could believe would make a more interesting film than the one they are actually making. Not me but some people might think that.

Bullet to the Head will be released in 2012.
