JJ has access, lots of access to a lot of things. Including, but not limited to, any cast he wishes, resources beyond our imagination, and most of all, a discipline to stick to his visions, stay within the metaverse, and even the nerve to incorporate a franchise with an avid and judgmental following like Star Trek into the folds of his subtle parallel world including the now dated Alias and the vomit inducing Cloverfield (Google Slusho) all the while being cheered on by loyal Trekkers and JJ-ites.
