This holiday season be prepared for a new classic, but with a Harold & Kumar twist. Our high flying duo returns November 4th to put there own kind of magic on the holiday film genre as well as the use of 3D.
The film begins six years after their Guantanamo Bay adventure, and stoner buds Harold Lee and Kumar Patel have grown apart. But when a mysterious package for Harold is delivered to Kumar the two are thrown back together again and inadvertently burn down Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree. So they head into New York City to find a replacement tree and thus chaos ensues.
I have to say this film has the best use of 3D since the James Cameron film Avatar, it truly does make it look "avatarded". Along the way Harold & Kumar are able to pay homage to holiday films of the past in their own special way, including an even more painful appendage to have frozen to a metal pole. One of the best bits like this in the film is the claymation scene where they are attacked by an evil snow man. The return of NPH a.k.a. Neil Patrick Harris is just as hilarious as you would think and adds a pretty amazing holiday dance number to the film.
As with the past two films, the third in the series is just as raunchy and over the top. But like it's predecessors the core and heart of the film is about friendship. No matter what these two go through they ultimately come out of it together and grow as individuals. This is what I love so much about the Harold & Kumar franchise, no matter how raunchy the film get it will always be grounded by the friendship of these two stoners.
I highly recommend going to see this film and in 3D, it is worth the price of admission. It is a film filled with heart, holiday spirit, and toddlers with the munchies. So have your Wafflebot make you some waffles for breakfast and head out on November 4th to see what is destined to be a new holiday classic.
