I haven't heard of Black Dynamite until recently, but just looking at the poster sold me on the movie. All three posters look like a mix between Undercover Brother and Grindhouse. Right up my alley.
The film, which stars Michael Jai Hall as the titular character Black Dynamite, and Arsenio Hall (we'd forgotten all about you!) as Tasty Freeze, is a parody of blaxploitation films.
While I have no idea how good the film is, I definitely applaud whoever came up with the posters -- they're great.
The film, which is reported to toe the line between satire and spoof (two very different things, if you don't know), follows the character of Black Dynamite as he uncovers a White House conspiracy from Richard Nixon (who makes his third appearance in popular film this year, after Frost/Nixon and Watchmen) as he investigates the murder of his brother by an Italian mob, who also fill black orphanages with heroin and "flood the streets" with bad malt liquor. Oh yeah, and he fights off his enemies with guns and nunchucks.
Black Dynamite opens in theatres October 16.
Those posters are definitely cool. I’ll be in line to see this!
