Bryan Singer Signed On To “Battlestar Galactica” Movie
Glen Larson, who holds the movie rights to the Battlestar Galactica franchise, has been talking for years about making a movie reimagining of the original 1980’s series, Battlestar Galactica, but for the first time in a long time the project actually appears to have some traction. Today, Bryan Singer was announced as the future film’s producer and director. Singer is best known for his work on the X-Men movies as well as on Superman Returns.
If this news sounds vaguely familiar it’s because Singer was very interested in turning the 1980’s series into a newer, hipper series before Ronald D. Moore was handed the reins in 2002. Singer’s movie reimagining will not be a continuation of the Ronald Moore series, and won’t feature any of the same cast members. At this time it’s not even known if Singer will follow his original series idea, from 2002, or craft an entirely different story. One thing that is clear, rumors that Singer would be returning to X-Men seem to be false, as he is now tied to this project.
