Grint, Radcliffe, and Watson photographed while filming 'Hallows'
Well, that's what they're saying.
According to producer David Yates, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will be appearing nude in a love scene between himself and co-star Emma Watson (Hermione Granger).
I can hear the shocked (and possibly outraged) gasps already, so let me put the scene in a little context for you.
Apparently, Harry and Ron (Rupert Grint) will be fighting a monster in a scene from the seventh film, and to infuriate Ron (and possibly turn him against Harry), the monster shows Ron a vision of Harry and Hermione in an intimate situation. "We'll create something that feels very sexy and very intriguing to bring about a reaction in Rupert," director David Yates said to UK's The Telegraph. "Dan has appeared nude in the past [in the stage play Equus]. There are a couple of scenes in the new film in which he will undress, but we're still thinking about how we present it."
There's also a scene to be included in which Harry appears at King's Cross Station -- nude -- in a vision meeting with Dumbledore.
The scene is quite a change from what you would expect from the Potter series -- no matter how dark the films became, they usually steered closely along the lines of chaste teen love, but never past that into sexual material. It should be interesting to see how this mature theme is added into what is supposed to be a childrens' series. Regardless, I'm sure it will be handled well -- something makes me think that Warner Bros. just would not accept a full-frontal Harry Potter in what is looking to be one of the biggest films of next year (and the year after) -- no matter what Radcliffe has done onstage.
