Actor Patrick Swayze, most famous for films such as Dirty Dancing, Point Break, Ghost, and more recently Donnie Darko, has died. The actor, who was 57 years old, lost his battle with cancer Monday. The actor had been fighting cancer for a long time; he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January of 2008, and the cancer quickly spread to the rest of his body. Swayze attributed this to his continued chain-smoking, though he refused to drop the habit, even during chemotherapy.

Swayze's last acting role as Charles Barker in the A&E show The Beast was short-lived due to his health, and was cancelled after a first season of thirteen episodes.

Swayze leaves behind a legacy of thirty years of film.
