Christopher Nolan and his merry band of Dark Knighters are notorious for their viral campaigns which have helped to manipulate and promote each of his previous films, The Dark Knight and Batman Begins to an unprecedented level that exceeded expectations.
Earlier this month the viral marketing campaign for the final chapter in the Batman trilogy got up and running when Warner released a pair of leaked "CIA documents" that referred to a certain Dr. Leonid Pavel.
The first document shows off a mug-shot of Alon Abutbul, alongside a potted profile of nuclear physicist Pavel. Much of the accompanying information has been blacked out, but the second document sheds a little more light on the film.
This includes a transcript between a CIA official and a militia unit, concerning possible asylum for the Doctor, who apparently fears for his life. Who is after him? Bane? Batman?
Of course many fans are now going to spend countless hours combing through the internet looking for clues to what might be in store in the film.
Now more viral goodness has been released with a new Bane t-shirt and more interestingly, a map of Gotham listing various "strike zones" also now available.
This new information comes via Superhero Hype who were sent a package containing a t shirt that was emblazoned with Bane's image and bore the motto "Fire Rises." The package it was delivered in was a cylindrical tube was a map of Gotham which detailed a number of "strike zones" which is presumably a list of targets for Bane's upcoming terrorist uprising.
It seems like Bane has got quite a plan in mind for Gotham, with the League Of Shadow's looking to raze the city to the ground. The Dark Knight Rises will be released in July 2012.
All of these documents can be viewed below.
