Steven Spielberg's latest movie, War Horse, has recently been released on Christmas Day and is on show in your local multiplex at this exact moment.
It is based on the award winning play, which itself is based on Michael Morpurgo's book, and is set during World War I, telling the remarkable story of frienship between a horse named Joey and a young man named Albert, played by Jeremy Irvine, who tames and trains him.
Early screenings on the film have been very positive and the drama is heading into the Oscar season with very positive buzz, with the National Board of review naming War Horse one of the best 10 films of the year.
The film has an all star cast which includes Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Peter Mullan, Niels Arestrup, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Patrick Kennedy and Toby Kebbel.
Dreamworks recenty held a press junket in New York City where Hiddleston, Kennedy and Kebbell were interviewed. Our good friends at Collider were able to meet the trio and ask them thoughtful and intriguing questions like what their favorite karaoke songs were, with one of the actors even treating the interviewer to a few notes for his pleasure.
By following the above link you can also watch an interview with Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy and screenwriter Richard Curtis and an exclusive video with Janusz Kaminski, the cinematographer for the film. Other topics of discussion included several future projects like Jurassic Park 4 and the Tintin sequel.
War Horse was released on Christmas Day and expect to see plenty more chatter about it as we get closer and closer to the awards season. Spielberg is probably already dreaming about placing a brand new Oscar statue against the plethora of gold wonders he already possesses. He will definitely have some fierce competition though.
We have just added a step by step short video on How to Harness a Miniature Horse.
