More post-Christmas picture previews have today been released with Disney now showing off two of its biggest animated projects for 2012. Throw your eyes down to the bottom of the screen for new looks at both Pixar’s Brave and Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, courtesy of the Collider website.

Neither of the pictures offers us much in the way of truly revelatory content – as we know what the main characters in the films were gonna look like already, but it’s always nice to see some extra imagery so that we can let our minds go wandering with dreams of what the finished film will look like.

Brave of course, is the Emeryville gang’s big release for the year. The studio’s first full-on mythical tale, it finds headstrong Princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald) chafing against tradition and custom and desperate to prove that she’s more than just the future wife for some annoying lord’s son. But her actions end up unleashing chaos and fury in the kingdom, and soon she’ll have to face a huge challenge and an ancient curse to save her family and the entire kingdom.

We’ll finally get to see Brave on August 17. But we’ll have to wait until October 5 for Frankenweenie which is Burton’s latest stop-motion effort based the 1984 short that helped make his name in Hollywood.

It’s the typically twisted (yet utterly charming) tale of young Victor, who harnesses his scientific know-how to resurrect best pal and pet Sparky when the poor pooch is killed. While he initially tries to hide his creation, Sparky gets out and causes trouble for the town.

You can view larger images from these two films below and become moist in anticipation at what they will bring us later in the year. Enjoy. Which of these films are you most exicted for? Can Burton outdo Pixar?
