With a deluge of images for forthcoming films being released in this Christmas period, Steven Soberbergh has decided to release the most seductive and tantalising of the lot, an image of Matthew McConaughey topless.
If that didn't raise your temperature then you need to check that you still have a pulse. The first image from the film shows McConaughey in the midst of a strip routine, alongside co-stars Alex Pettyfer and Channing Tatum. Those incredibly tight jeans look ridiculously uncomfortable and could cause some pain in horribel areas.
The film is actually based on Tatum's real life experiences as a male stripper, with Pettyfer playing a newcomer to the clothes-shedding business that Tatum's character takes under his wing.
“We’re using Saturday Night Fever as our model, so hopefully we’re on the right track,” said Soderbergh of the project. “When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I’d ever heard for a movie. I said I wanted in immediately. It’s sexy, funny and shocking.”
Soderbergh will direct a Reid Carolin script with Carloin, Gregory Jacobs, Channing Tatum and Nick Wechsler producing. McConaughey will play male stripper Dallas who owns the Xquisite a strip club, with Alex Pettyfer being called The Kid and Channing Tatum's character being named Mike Martingano aka "Magic Mike."
Tatum was a male stripper in Tampa, Florida when he was 19 years old under the name of "Chan Crawford," before he moved to Miami and was discovered on the street by a model talent scout. The lucky dog.
Magic Mike will be released in the USA on 29th June 2012 and for those of you who are hoping to see more images of Matthew McConaughey topless just sift through your DVD collection and find any of his movies. The man does love to show off his flesh.
