Last week MovieOvermind brought you the teaser trailer for Sly and the boys latest instalment of the Expendables franchise and now we have, drum roll please ...... *clears throat*, a poster.
What?
We should have done the poster first then the trailer?
But a picture says a thousand words?
Ah well you live and learn.
However, this poster is pretty daunting and impressive. It shows Sly standing alone and unlike the original marketing campaign which seemed to only focus on how impressive the ensemble cast is, gives off more a sequel kind of vibe.
Sure, there is still room for every cast members name at the top of the poster, but with an ensemble this stellar it would be a shame not to name drop a little.
You can check out the full poster below.
For those of you out of the loop, The Expendable 2 is an upcoming ensemble action film written by Sylvester Stallone, directed by Simon West and starring everyone in the world ever. Including you grandmother. Even if she's dead.
The cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Some pretty impressive names from world of guns, explosions and muscles if you ask me.
The synopsis is that after taking a seemingly simple job for Mr. Church, Bruce Willis, the Expendables find their plans going awry when one of their own is brutally murdered by rival mercenary Jean Vilain, Jean Claude Van Damme. So far so good. The Expendables set out into hostile territory, with their new members Billy the Kid and Maggie, played by Liam Hemsworth and Yu Tan respectively, to put a stop to a deadly weapon and gain their revenge against the villain who killed their brother.
This film could only be better if the Rock turned up.
The Expendables 2 is due to hit a screen near you on August 17th 2012.
