Clash Of The Titans failed to impress audiences and almost every single critic alike when it was released. However it did make a large sum of money, even though it's post-conversion 3D was an embarrassment to cinema. So with the money that earned safely secured in the bank, work began on the sequel, Wrath Of The Titans.

And lo and behold only two short years later it has finally arrived. The film is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman, of Battle LA fame, who has taken over the reigns for Louis Leterrier with Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Danny Huston starring alongside Edgar Ramirez, Rosamund Pike, Toby Kebbell and Bill Nighy.

Looks like this sequel is going par for the course and following the same kind of trajectory that it's predecessor did. However it's CGI does look to have vastly improved and this film actually involves some titans.

The plot takes place ten years after the original and sees Perseus, retired and basking in the glow of killing the much feared Kraken, but attempting to remain anonymous as a fisherman, until Kronos brings out his vengeful troops from Tartatarus to remonstrate with Zeus, Hade and Poseidon, each played by Neeson, Fienes and Huston. This leads to Pereus leading a quest to the underworld to rescue Zeus and hoping to stop the world from being destroyed. Because, let's be honest, no one would want that.

Suddenly they encounter a Cyclops, Minotaur, shifting buildings and massive explosions. Wrath is due to be released on March 30th 2012 and has already come across stiff competition in the shape of Tarsem Singh's Immortals, which has recently been released.

For those of you who like your Greek mythology then you only have a couple more months to wait until the CGI mayhem hits our screens.
